Kenya Walking, Birding And Wildlife Safaris

Client's Profile

Jan+Lee

We would not want to stereotype our clients and we respect that individuals have different personalities but with over 10 years of running safaris exclusively for walkers and bird watchers we can say we have a fairly good idea of our clients long before they arrive in Kenya.

They are men and women of all ages, who are active to their ability, love outdoors and are downright particular about comfort, safety, perfect ground logistics and itineraries that are carefully designed.

Many are professionals while others are retired but they are all widely traveled, always on active vacations. While game viewing is important to them, they want a resposible approach to wildlife in a safari that is not restricted to "morning and afternoon gamedrive". They are not out to visit all the Kenya parks, they prefer a slowed down program that allows them to enjoy selected parks with enough time to explore them thoroughly, away from mass tourism. They are not necessarily looking for a cheap deal but they want value for their money and would spot a marketing gimmick from a mile.

Walkers-at-ACC

Physically, there are very few who are athletes and they are not out for extreme & adrenalin activities (but inevitably a rush will come when a giraffe is right ahead in your walking path or for a birder to get a clear view of the endemic Great Blue Turaco in Kakamega Forest).

Indeed most of them are of average fitness but enjoy a weekend of walking or birding as long as it is somewhere nice and quiet. Some prefer to join a small group safari where they know they will meet like-minded travelers while others especially families with children prefer custom safaris.
